We are very excited toannounce our tryouts for the competitive ninja team and pre-team we arebuilding at USA Ninja Challenge, Rochester NY for the 2026-2027 competitionseason. I hope this email will provide the information necessary todecide if you would like to have your child considered for team.
This season we will be partof 2 competitive leagues. World Ninja League is an international league and thebest in the sport. They have different tiers of competition to supportboth beginner competitors as well as advanced. We will primarily becompeting in WNL’s Tier 2 in our first year of competition as it is the tierdesigned for newer competitors. Additionally, we will continue toparticipate in our intra-brand USA Ninaj Challenge league.
- When: Friday, May 29 at 6:30 PM (Can't make it? Fill out the form anyway and we will arrange an alternate time!)
- Competitive Team: Ages 5.75 – 18 (Year-round advanced training, local/regional competitions)
- Pre-Team: Ages 4 – 18 (On-track training to build skills, confidence, and competition readiness)
Who is a candidate for team?
- Anyone age 5.75-18 who loves ninja and wants to experience competing in the sport at a level beyond our in-house fun jam competitions.
- Competitors are the kind of ninja who aren't afraid to fall often while trying something new and maintain a positive attitude and sense of humor even when things are going their way. They are highly coachable and focused in class. A great attitude is a requirement to be on our team.

Who is a candidate forPre-Team?
*- Ages 4-6 who would like to be on track to be part of the competitive team once they are old enough to compete
- Ages 6-18 who are not developmentally ready to join the team but would love to in the future and would benefit from extended training before bringing their competition participation beyond our in-house fun jams.
What does the commitmentfor team look like?
- Team members train twice a week. At least one of the classes must be the “team/advanced only” class while the other can be any other class that fits their schedule. This gives them the opportunity to continue classes with friends while leveling up their skills for competition.
- They train year-round and if they do take a break it would only be for the month of July which aligns with the completion of the season.
- They must attend at least 4 competitions during the season (Sept-May). These competitions are held locally and within a 2 hour drive from our gym.
- Plan to attend the regional competition if they qualify in May. This is usually held within 4 hours of the gym.
- Consider attending World Finals if they qualify at least every other year. This is a big trip which has usually been held in North Carolina. It is great if you can go every year your child qualifies, however, we realize this can be a large expense and time commitment that is not always possible every year.
- Lastly, there will be additional trainings and parties/get togethers added to the schedule from time to time which are encouraged but optional.

- Attend twice weekly classes with at least one class being the pre-team training
